The women's ministry emphasis day is cancelled
Next week is our women's ministry emphasis day and I still have no volunteers to help. I cannot do this on my own. Now is the time for us women to come together and show people how IMPORTANT women's ministry is.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY June 8, 2019 is the Women’s Ministry Emphasis Day; this is an all-day event. Not only do we have a sermon, but we also have 3 seminars that are crucial to this day. A volunteer is needed for each seminar. Each seminar contains a PowerPoint presentation, there will be a laptop available for this purpose. Ladies, this is a very special day for us and your participation is appreciated in more ways than you know. I have all of the information that is needed for each of these seminars and am more than happy to assist anyone that may need some help with presenting them. The seminars include: Shining Within (21 Ways to build a strong Spiritual life) Shining Out (Arise and shine in your community Plant a seed ministry Shining Together (Reflecting His light) There will be a 15-minute break between each seminar. There will also be a potluck that day that will consist of cold foods such as fruits, veggies, crackers, cheese, fruit salad, muffins, finger sandwiches, etc. (Volunteers are needed for this potluck as well). Ladies, I encourage you to participate in this day and invite your friends, family, and neighbors as well. Together we can make a difference!
Ladies! Due to conflicting work schedules of mine, the care group/bible study will now be held on Wednesday's at 5:30 pm
Hey ladies! Guess what? On June 8, 2019 we have a special day! We are going to be celebrating Women's Ministries Emphasis Day! We will need some volunteers for the seminar; 2 women are needed. We will also need volunteers for a potluck lunch that day as well. If anyone is interested, please contact me. Details will be discussed at the women's ministry meeting on April 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Meeting tonight is cancelled
There will be no Bible study tonight.
For those of you who do not know, I am the women's ministry leader at the escanaba seventh day adventist church. While being the leader, I conduct different activities. I am extending out an invitation to ALL women to participate in the activities. Some of these activities include Bible studies, movie nights, craft nights, etc. You do NOT need to be a member of the church to partake in the activities. It doesn't matter your religion or your beliefs. These activities are for women who would like to spend more time with other women and come together in God's words. If you have further inquiry or any questions, please feel free to contact me. Have a blessed day ❤ Terri Hampel
Bible study was tonight at 5:30 p.m. I think that I'll start going live with it or pre-record it so everyone has a chance to listen at their own pace.
Bible study was good tonight. One person showed up, so that's a start. Our first lesson was learning about Christ and why He came to us. Next week's study will be Tuesday at 5:30. Bring a friend with! The more the merrier.
Ladies, I have come up with a marvelous idea for the community. Why don't we make prayer blankets? Don't know what one is? A prayer blanket is made by our ministry and we pray the entire time we are making them. We pray with each and every stitch! Then we give them out to the community for free or a donation. These blankets are for the sick and those in need of prayers. Who's with me on this!? I think it's a fantastic idea.
Don't forget, we have our first Bible study tomorrow! I look forward to seeing you there!
Please share this with everyone you know.
I am working on developing a newsletter for our church. Does anyone have any input on what they would like included in the newsletter? It will be distributed monthly, starting next month. So far I have an area for the women's ministry, pathfinders, a story, calendar of events, a member spotlight and prayer requests. I think this will be good for our church and keep everyone updated. Please get back to me with any suggestions.
I was thinking that since there's a few people who cannot make it to our Bible study, that I'll go live with it so some people can still participate in it. What are your thoughts?
Are there any women here who may be interested in attending the women's retreat in Au Sable? It is is in April and we can carpool for those who may be intetested. Please contact me for information in regards to this retreat if you have any questions.
Today's Devotional: Pray Earnestly for Christian Character Until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ. Ephesians 4:13, NRSV. BLJ 36.1 We can never see our Lord in peace, unless our souls are spotless. We must bear the perfect image of Christ. Every thought must be brought into subjection to the will of Christ. As expressed by the great apostle, we must come into “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” We shall never attain to this condition without earnest effort. We must strive daily against outward evil and inward sin if we would reach the perfection of Christian character. BLJ 36.2 Those who engage in this work will see so much to correct in themselves, and will devote so much time to prayer and to comparing their characters with God’s great standard, the divine law, that they will have no time to comment and gossip over the faults or dissect the characters of others. A sense of our own imperfections should lead us to humility and earnest solicitude lest we fail of everlasting life. The words of inspiration should come home to every soul: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” BLJ 36.3 If the professed people of God would divest themselves of their self-complacency and their false ideas of what constitutes a Christian, many who now think they are in the path to heaven would find themselves in the way of perdition. Many proud-hearted professors [of religion] would tremble like an aspen leaf in the tempest could their eyes be opened to see what spiritual life really is. Would that those now reposing in false security could be aroused to see the contradiction between their profession of faith and their everyday demeanor. BLJ 36.4 To be living Christians, we must have a vital connection with Christ.... When the affections are sanctified, our obligations to God are made primary, everything else secondary. To have a steady and ever-growing love for God, and a clear perception of His character and attributes, we must keep the eye of faith fixed constantly on Him. Christ is the life of the soul. We must be in Him and He in us, else we are sapless branches.—The Review and Herald, May 30, 1882. BLJ 36.5
